T-2-4 for Every Child
Rummel Creek opened it's doors to students for the first time in 1962. Since then Rummel Creek has welcomed hundred of excited and energetic students. As our students learn and grow they come to realize that they make instructional gains that are more than they ever thought possible. This is due to our dedicated and determined staff who consistently use rigorous and unique teaching tools and strategies. Also, the RCE parents and PTA generously support instruction, enrichment activities and fundraisers to enhance our environment. We are proud that this year nearly all of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are passing STAAR. On average nearly half of our students are performing at the mastery level.
At RCE we continue to focus on growing life-long independent learners who are socially, academically and emotionally prepared to be contributing members of society.
The best way to learn more about RCE and stay connected to participate in our PTA, our events as well as follow us on RCE Facebook's page.
Our goal is to prepare each student for his or her future endeavors by following the Spring Branch Plan T-2-4 . Throughout the year, we will focus on building respect, courage, and excellence. Our students, teachers, and parents are the best!
Roadrunners do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.

A note from Dr. Sloan:
I am so honored to be a member of the Rummel Creek Elementary family. I am entering my 20th year of education this year, and my 11th year as an administrator. I grew up in Southern Oregon, and earned both my Bachelor and Masters degrees from Southern Oregon University. I then moved to Los Angeles California, where I spent 16 years working in public schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels serving as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent. In 2015 I earned my Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from California State University, Northridge. In the summer of 2017 my family made the move from California to Texas. In the summer of 2020 we made the move from the Austin area to Houston. My amazing husband Spencer, is a high school math teacher and baseball coach. We have two incredible daughters, 5-year-old Brooklyn, and 3-year-old Finley. I could not be happier to be a part of the SBISD team and I look forward to work alongside the wonderful Rummel Creek staff and families. The majority of my time will be spent in classrooms supporting the growth and development of our students alongside our world-class teachers, but I am always happy to meet with parents to discuss how we can best support your precious children.
